Housing & Community

Homes for working families, and a place for neighbors to gather

Our vision pairs workforce housing with a welcoming community meeting space, so that Legacy Tower supports both the households who live there and the neighborhood around it.

Workforce housing vision

Stability that helps working households thrive

Teachers, health care workers, service and trade professionals, first responders, and many others keep our communities running, yet finding a stable home close to work can be a challenge. Legacy Tower’s housing vision is focused on working individuals and families.

We envision homes that are thoughtfully designed, well maintained, and connected to the things that make daily life work: employment, schools, transit, and services. Stable housing gives people the footing to plan for the future, support their families, and take part in community life.

What guides our housing vision

  • Stability. Homes that help households put down roots and plan ahead.
  • Proximity to opportunity. Living closer to work, learning, and essential services.
  • Quality and dignity. Well-designed, welcoming spaces residents are proud to call home.
  • Connection. Easy access to on-site technology resources and community space.
Please note: Legacy Tower is in the planning stage. We are not accepting housing applications, maintaining a waitlist, or making commitments about housing availability at this time. Details will be shared publicly as they are confirmed.

Proposed community meeting space

A welcoming room that belongs to the neighborhood

At the heart of our vision is a community meeting space: a bright, flexible room where neighbors can come together. We picture it as a resource for the whole community, not only for residents of the building.

The space is envisioned to support gatherings of many kinds, and its final design and programming will be shaped by what we hear from residents and local organizations.

Potential uses we are considering

Neighborhood meetings

A convenient place for block groups, resident associations, and neighbors to discuss local priorities.

Educational programs

Classes, tutoring, financial literacy sessions, and learning opportunities for all ages.

Nonprofit activities

Space for community organizations to host services, outreach, and partner programs.

Workshops

Hands-on sessions in digital skills, career readiness, small business, and more.

Community events

Celebrations, cultural events, and gatherings that bring neighbors together.

Listening sessions

Open conversations where residents can share ideas and help guide the project.

Working together

How housing and community space strengthen each other

Residents gain a place to connect with neighbors and access programs close to home. The neighborhood gains a shared resource and a new hub for local organizations. Together, they help turn a building into a community anchor.

Your voice matters

Residents and local organizations: share your ideas

What would make this community space most valuable to you? What housing needs do you see in your neighborhood? What programs, services, or events would you like to see? We want to hear it.

Your input will help shape our priorities as Legacy Tower moves through planning.

Questions we are asking

  • What makes it hard for working families to find stable housing nearby?
  • What would bring you to a community meeting space regularly?
  • Which local organizations should we be talking with?
  • What hours, amenities, or accessibility features matter most to you?
